Northern Gas Networks are in the process of bidding to be the provider of the UK’s first trial Hydrogen Village which will involve the conversion of circa 2000 homes in Northern England from Natural Gas to Hydrogen as a fuel source. The award of this project would result in the demand for approximately 2,000 – 4000 domestic hydrogen detectors. Although the technology is available for the detection of Hydrogen NGN do not believe that such a domestic detector is available on the market and as such wishes to engage with potential manufacturers of such a device. Northern Gas Networks are looking for approx. 2-4,000 Hydrogen domestic detectors/alarms to assist in the BEIS/Ofgem led Hydrogen Village Trials that will go live from mid-2024
