The National Horizons Centre development at the Darlington Campus will provide the vehicle to grow research and teaching in biologics, underpinned by new undergraduate, postgraduate and degree apprenticeship provision in Biomedical and Pharmaceutical Sciences.
The state of the art infrastructure will provide facilities to develop high-quality training and CPD activity, commissioned and informed by our industrial partners. NHC will also be the focus for interdisciplinary research across the interfaces of Health and Wellbeing, Digital and Creative Economies and Secure and Resilient Society themes articulated in the Teesside 2020 research strategy.
The bioreactors are to be placed in two separate laboratories on different floors of the building and will have research and training use.
The bioreactors must be supplied in the following sizes:
— 8 x 5 L microbial/mammalian autoclavable glass vessels,
— 1 x of around 10 L microbial steam in place.
