II.1.4) Short Description:
NEPO is seeking to procure a framework contract for the supply and distribution of food and general provisions. The purpose of this PIN is to give advance notice of the procurement, gauge market interest and identify suppliers wishing to participate in future market engagement sessions. Sessions will take place late January, early February 2019 and will be secured on a first come first served basis. Market engagement sessions will last for a maximum of 90 minutes and be limited to four attendees per supplier. Appointments will be confirmed in due course and a letter sent out with further details on the location, format and agenda. Suppliers unable to attend will still be allowed an opportunity to provide feedback via the NEPO Portal.

NEPO is seeking to establish a framework contract for the supply and distribution of food and general provisions, the resulting solution will require direct deliveries to a variety of Contracting Authority Establishments across the North East on behalf of NEPO Member Authorities and associate members including, but not limited to, schools and other public-sector catering establishments. The existing Framework is split into 4 Lots as follows:
Lot 1 – General Provisions and Alcohol;
Lot 2 – Frozen Food;
Lot 3 – Meat, Sausage and Poultry and
Lot 4 – Fruit, Vegetables, Bread and Eggs.
It is envisaged that the same requirements will be covered in the renewal procurement process, there is also an opportunity to cover additional requirements and a potential Lot for speciality foods and deli items to incorporate local and regional produce will be considered.
The estimated value included in this prior information notice is based on current volumes per annum, extrapolated across a 48-month period. The value may however be subject to change on the basis that the resulting framework contract is expected to be available for use by wider public-sector organisations.
