‘Non-exclusive Framework Agreement for the supply to NHS Supply Chain depots via the Stock and Blue Diamond Routes and to the NHS Supply Chain customer base via the Direct/E-Direct Route of Procedure Packs. A Procedure Pack is defined as a bundle of single use medical consumables that are contained in a sterile package for use during a surgical or a medical procedure. These packs typically include but shall not be limited to drapes and gowns swabs blades syringes poly-ware or any specific single use consumables a surgeon requires to perform the procedure. The specialist areas which these packs may be utilised in may be-but are not limited to:
— Cardio-vascular;
— Ear nose and throat (ENT);
— General and abdominal surgery including laparoscopy;
— Obstetrics and gynaecology;
— Neurosurgery;
— Ophthalmology;
— Orthopaedics;
— Plastic surgery;
— Urology;
— Angiography;
— Antiseptic skin preparation;
— Catheterisation;
— Haemodialysis;
— Perfusion and IV therapy;
— Regional anaesthesia;
— Suturing and wound care packs.
The packs can either be:
i. bespoke to a customer’s specific requirements or
ii. of a standard specification recognised across the NHS.
This Framework Agreement is for 2 years with the option to extend any of the Lots for up to an additional 24 months in addition to the initial 2-year term. For the avoidance of doubt this may involve 1 or more than 1 extension to any Lot up to the maximum permitted term’.

‘The Framework Agreement will be between NHS Supply Chain and the Supplier. Under the Framework Agreement there will be 2 different methods of supply — 1 for Non-Direct Contract Products and 1 for Direct Contract Products. NHS Supply Chain only will be entitled to purchase Non-Direct supplies and/or services which it will then make available for purchase by:
1) any NHS Trusts;
2) any other NHS entity;
3) any government department agency or other statutory body and/or
4) any private sector entity active in the UK healthcare sector.
For supplies and/or services identified as Direct Contract Products:
1) NHS Supply Chain;
2) any NHS Trust;
3) any other NHS entity;
4) any government department agency or other statutory body and/or
5) any private sector entity active in the UK healthcare sector will be able to enter into a direct contract with the Supplier for any of the supplies and/or services under the Framework. For these contracts the Supplier will be required to report to and pay a direct management fee to NHS Supply Chain as set out in the tender documents.
