II.2.4) Description of the procurement
The National Satellite Test Facility (NSTF) is a new national facility for the environmental testing of complete satellites (up to 7 tonnes mass). It is being funded by the UK Government in response to a study commissioned by the UK Space Agency (UKSA) into the status of existing space test facilities in the UK.
The Large Space Test Chamber (LSTC) — sitting within the larger National Satellite Test Facility — is to test large satellite/instruments in a cleanroom environment. The facility consists of a Vacuum chamber, Vacuum system, Thermal system, and Control System/automation. The Contract is for the complete manufacture and supply, as well as installation, training and operational support to commission the facility.
