The Viable Clusters Broadband Project is the provisional name for a collaboration between the Specified Locations. The project forms part of Stage 4 of the Fastershire Broadband Strategy. The project will target a portion of the £30m package of financial subsidy for Local Authorities in England announced recently by DEFRA to support Superfast Broadband interventions in the “final 5%” of exclusively rural areas. This funding is from the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD) programme. 58 clusters of premises which are deemed to be within the final 5% of the participating counties have been provisionally identified for investment via this project. This Public Consultation is to identify whether any premises in the areas that have been identified either have or may benefit from commercial investment to provide broadband speeds of 30Mbps or over in the future.
