April a productive month for Tideway

With spring in the air, April has been a productive month for Tideway as work on the Thames Tideway Tunnel gears up ahead of the start of tunneling later this year.

At Kirtling Street, our two Tunnel Boring Machines Millicent and Ursula had their cutter heads attached, and the two machines are now getting readied to be lowered underground.

Shaft excavations have continued at Hammersmith with the shaft now 30 metres deep and over at Dormay Street, they’re continuing with river wall strengthening in preparation for digging the shaft there.

With 20 construction sites now operating across London, there is considerable progress happening on the super sewer project.
