Timelapse: installing A45 pedestrian bridge

This timelapse video shows the installation of the A45 pedestrian bridge by Skanska on behalf of National Highways. This is part of the M42 Junction 6 improvement scheme taking place in the Midlands. The pedestrian bridge which spans the A45 between Church Lane and the Arden Hotel in Solihull, will significantly improve pedestrian and cycle access from Bickenhill Village and Catherine De Barnes Lane to the South, connecting them to Birmingham International Station, the NEC, Trinity Park and businesses to the North. As well as providing a safer, more direct route across the A45 for residents of Bickenhill Village, the new footbridge will replace the poor-quality existing route across Clock Interchange. Pedestrians will no longer need to cross multiple slip roads around the island.
