Businesses Get Chance to Join Scottish Framework
Businesses throughout the energy efficiency sector are being given the opportunity to bid for a place on a national procurement framework which is used by councils and housing associations.
The tender is live for Scotland Excel’s energy efficiency contractors framework and is expected to bring up to £200 million in business opportunities each year.
This second generation framework will also help councils, as well as other social landlords, source the goods and services they need in order to implement energy efficiency measures in their properties, to help cut emissions, tackle fuel poverty and create warmer homes.
Julie Welsh, Chief Executive of Scotland Excel, said: “With sustainability at its core, the new energy efficiency contractors framework will support councils and housing associations in their efforts to source the goods and services they need to deliver local improvements that will bring benefits to homes for current and future generations.
“The framework has been designed to help social landlords deliver improvements to housing stock to create warmer, more energy efficient homes, to tackle fuel poverty, and to meet national net zero targets. It will play a key role in supporting Scotland’s green recovery and I look forward to the new framework being awarded.”
The framework will run for four years and will give an effective and efficient way to upgrade housing stock as well as offering the capability to source full house retrofitting. It also covers professional services such as energy efficiency designers, coordinators and assessor. Along with this, it also offers building fabric measures like wall, floor and roof insulation, door and window replacement, retrofit and roof repair and placement.
It will also include heating, hot water and ventilation measures for electric and gas systems, and renewables and energy storage measures. The framework reflects the aims of the Scottish Government’s Heat in Buildings Strategy.
The tender will close on 8 October and can be accessed on Public Contracts Scotland.
