New contracts awarded for Southern Construction Framework

New firms have secured contracts for the government’s Southern Construction Framework joining several other existing contractors.
Contracts have been awarded to 11 companies including McAlpine, Midas, ISG, McClaren, and Kier for the Southern Construction Framework (SCF). The framework is a project led by Devon and Hampshire county councils to link the public sector with companies for construction projects.
Public organisations including banks, universities, hospitals, local councils, emergency services, schools, and cultural institutions can access constructions services through the SCF. It allows them to access early contract work and collaboration, and it covers a spectrum of projects from building to refurbishment.
McLaren’s Public Sector Director Keith Rayner said: “The framework has a truly local focus, offering public-sector organisations best value – on cost, environmental management and social value.”
“We’re proud to have secured a place on it and we look forward to helping a range of organisations deliver their construction projects.”
The contractors now involved are:
- BAM Construction Ltd
- Galliford Try Building Ltd
- ISG Construction Ltd
- Kier Construction Ltd
- McLaren Construction Ltd
- Midas Construction Ltd
- Morgan Sindall Construction & Infrastructure Ltd
- Sir Robert McAlpine Ltd
- Wates Construction Ltd
- Willmott Dixon Construction Limited.
The SCF is expected to be worth between £0.5billion and £1.5billion and is set to run for the next four years. Projects have already been completed with the SCF and the organisation has helped deliver over £2.5billion in public projects.
