Balfour Beatty joins North West Construction Hub framework

Balfour Beatty has this week announced its appointment to Lots 2 and 3 of the high value North West Construction Hub framework.

Beginning this month, the North West Construction Hub (NWCH) framework will run for a period of three years with the option to extend for a further 12 months. Lot 2 will cover contracts valued at £15M-£35M while Lot 3 will serve schemes in excess of £35M.

In order to improve efficiencies, chosen contractors will deliver construction projects across sectors as diverse as education, health, retail and leisure for public sector bodies in the North West of England – spanning Greater Manchester, Merseyside, Lancashire, Cheshire and Cumbria. Crucially, the framework will allow public sector clients to commission works through a procurement process that provides a quick and efficient route to market.

As part of its ongoing commitment to reducing on-site construction by 25% by 2025, Balfour Beatty will introduce off-site manufacturing techniques across projects in both lots to increase efficiencies and safer ways of working.

According to Thomas Edgcumbe, Managing Director of Balfour Beatty’s Regional North and Midlands business: “Our deep regional knowledge combined with our sustainable, innovative delivery approach will support us in strengthening communities and building for the future.

“Having recently been appointed to a number of key civil engineering frameworks in the region along with the NWCH High Value framework, we are expertly positioned to support the delivery of the North West of England’s current and future building and infrastructure requirements.”
