NEW FUNDING TO HELP ORGANISATIONS GET COVID-19 READY

A new £400,000 funding pot is being made available by awarding authority to help businesses, social enterprises and charities adapt their premises and introduce measures to allow for social distancing.

ICF: THE COVID-19 RELATED DISCRETIONARY CAPITAL GRANT SCHEME

The Awarding Authority have applied and successfully obtained funding to establish the Third Sector ICF Covid 19 related Discretionary Capital Grant scheme. Organisations delivering support and services in the West Glamorgan RPB area can apply for funding to cover capital costs associated with Covid 19 adapted services.

COMMUNITY INVESTMENT FUNDING ADMINISTRATION (CIFA)

The Awarding Authority has been established as the delivery body responsible for a safe, sustainable and publicly acceptable programme for the geological disposal of the specified location higher activity radioactive waste. In December 2018 the UK Government published a policy which laid out the commitment to a community consent-based process to find a suitable location for a Geological Disposal Facility (GDF) for higher activity radioactive waste. In January 2019 the Welsh Government published an equivalent policy.

The Awarding Authority is seeking applications from Early Career industrialists, academics, and from individuals working in the third sector and government organisations to join our Engineering Early Career Forum. The Engineering theme aims to identify and tackle fundamental engineering research challenges with the potential for lasting academic, social, and economic benefit to the UK. These challenges are often inherently interdisciplinary, cutting both across EPSRC’s portfolio and across the Research Councils more widely. Engaging with early career stakeholders from academia, industry and policymaking is a crucial part of achieving these aims, helping to set the direction for engineering research in the near future.
