Roper Rhodes gains new eco-friendly HQ in Bath

Following a design and construction process which took a keen focus upon sustainability and providing an environmentally-friendly office accommodation, the property consultancy company Carter Jonas has completed the new Bath headquarters of Roper Rhodes bathroom furniture company.
Going into further detail, the new Roper Rhodes headquarters is located on the Brassmill Lane Trading Estate and covers a total area of 19,500sq ft, consisting of both offices and warehousing, with the design expressly centred around energy efficiency and utilisation of renewable energy.
Specifically, the headquarters possesses new 15KW photovoltaic panels that are fitted to the roof in addition to there being LED lighting fitted in the interior, with the construction materials comprising of recycled materials wherever possible in accordance with the occupier’s commitment to sustainability.
Furthermore, the building’s exterior is clad in a contemporary black ceramic material created with insulated rendering to as to improve the energy efficiency of the building itself while features such as the solar panels will provide whatever heating is necessary from a renewable source.
Aesthetics were also a key component of this project for Carter Jonas who have taken inspiration from the industrial surroundings to create a contemporary geometric structure.
An Associate Partner of Carter Jonas, Tom Lowe stated: “Aesthetically, the building is a step-change from other office accommodation and warehousing in the area. Owing to its unique exterior, it is set apart from other buildings in Bath with a crisp, contemporary look.
“We are proud to have led the project team on this and to have utilised the incredible expertise we have on our doorstep here in the South West. Our hope is that examples of high-quality commercial conversions such as this will inspire greater investment in the existing building stock in the region to make it meet the requirements of today’s businesses.”
