Slate Yard residential development topped-out in Salford



Morgan Sindall have recently celebrated the topping out of the third development at The Slate Yard, New Bailey, in Salford after being commissioned by the English Cities Fund, which is a joint venture consisting of Muse Developments, Legal and General, and Homes England.

The Slate Yard development began construction in September 2018 and has a total of 21-storeys, possessing, upon completion, 199 apartments which can be broken down into 98 one-bedrooms, 81 two-bedrooms, and 20 three-bedroom flats, with the building also containing a communal lounge and a rental car club.

The Area Director at Morgan Sindall Construction, Shaun Jones stated: “This ceremony was a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the excellent progress being made on this project, a result of the joined up and collaborative approach of our site team.

“Greater Manchester’s residential market is in rude health, as the city becomes increasingly attractive to people who wish to take advantage of the many work and lifestyle opportunities the region has to offer.

“This new phase of development at The Slate Yard site will complement the already completed buildings, helping the project to reach its potential.

“New Bailey as a whole represents what can be achieved through a commitment to partnership and the sharing of ideas and resources, as exemplified by the English Cities Fund.”

The largest of the Slate Yard developments are schedule to be completed by the spring of 2021.

The Regional Director at The English Cities Fund, Phil Mayall added: “This year development has ramped up even further at New Bailey, with more live developments on site than at any one time in its ten-year history.

“As the latest buildings top out, there continues to be a real buzz about the place and it’s fantastic to see the innovative ideas and initiatives we originally had for the site a decade ago becoming a reality.

“New Bailey has become a destination in its own right, somewhere that high calibre businesses want to be part of, and where people want to spend their time.

“Although the buildings around New Bailey are individual in their design, The Slate Yard represents the highest quality in build to rent living in the city centre. It’s fantastic to see it reach topping out stage and we look forward to starting to welcome people into their new home in 2021.”
