Ice Hotel Sweden

The Ice Hotel, Sweden opens its doors for the 22/23 season.

On December 16^th, the doors to Icehotel 33, the winter-season part of Icehotel, has opened. The hotel, where every room is a work of art in this unique art gallery, will be the 33^rd edition. Its art suites, sculptures and ceremonial hall has been created by artists from all over the world, made entirely of ice and snow.

This year´s winter and art hotel are now ready for visitors in Jukkasjärvi. 24 artists from around the world, together with the hotel´s construction team and Creative Director Luca Roncoroni, have built and created the hotel and all its art during six intense weeks. In addition to the 12 art suites in Icehotel, the much talked about ceremony hall for weddings and other celebrations, forms the heart of the hotel. This year the master minds behind the ceremony hall is Wouter Biegelaar, Netherlands, and Viktor Tsarski from Bulgaria.

The construction, which is made in a new rendition every year, begins already in the spring when blocks of ice are harvested from the mighty Torne River. Kept cold in the ice warehouse in Jukkasjärvi, later to be used to create beautiful art and architecture. This year artists from Sweden, Germany, Great Britain, Spain, Chile, Netherlands, Singapore, France, Japan, Canada, Bulgaria, Mongolia and Slovakia have carefully been selected by Icehotel to create a unique world of art.
