BAM pause construction across UK

Construction company, BAM has paused construction activity across their UK sites from March 25 to enable further detailed reviews of working practices, and to stop the spread of COVID-19.
BAM Construction are determined to maintain the highest levels of safety for employees as well as their families, as well as supply chain, clients, along with the wider pubic.
By enabling the safest working conditions, as set out by Public Health England, the new Site Operating Procedures which have been developed by Build UK and the Construction Leadership Council require more time for detailed discussions and collaborations with clients, as well as employees and those within their supply chain.
BAM have said that where work can be delivered in accordance with the new guidelines, it is anticipated that sites will be able to re-start work from Monday, March 30th, 2020. However, this date is being kept under constant review.
Facilities management activity at BAM Construction throughout the UK has been assessed against current guidelines, and this will continue to be assessed on a rolling basis. The majority of their facilities management sites are Government public sector buildings which are all critical as part of the national effort to combat the COVID-19 outbreak the nation is currently facing.
BAM FM work within the sectors of health and social care, education, key public services, local and national government, public safety and national security, transport and financial services. The FM teams throughout the country are working hard to keep these buildings operational, with all operations to remain under a constant review.
