Founded in 1974, Clarke Demolition Co Ltd is based in Waldringfield near Ipswich, Suffolk, and undertakes all types of demolition work across England and Wales.
Arthur Clarke, the present MD’s father, started trading as a civil engineering, landscaping and demolition contractor in 1952, building Clarke Demolition into the trusted and influential company it is today. The Company has remained a family concern, with current the Directors being David Clarke and Peter Clarke.
Members of the NFDC, David Clarke is a past National President and Honorary Life Vice President of the Federation and between them the Directors hold membership of The Institute of Demolition Engineers, The Faculty of Building and The Institute of Directors.
The Company itself is also a member of the UK Utilities Sector Achilles, & UK Rail Industry Achilles, a member of the National Demolition Training Group, a member of the Suffolk Carbon Charter initiative and is CHAS Accredited through the NFDC Site Audit Scheme.
CDC understands that its main asset is its people and that they are essential to maintaining the high standard of service offered over the last 30 years, which is unequalled by its competitors.
Everyone on the company, from management to general labourers, is trained by the National Demolition Training Group and has the relevant ConstructionSkills/CPCS/CSCS/CCDO competence certification. Everyone also has annual Demolition Safety Awareness and Asbestos Awareness training.
Evidence of CDC’s commitment to providing a professional and competent workforce is that it is one of the few companies that have achieved “Platinum” level status with CSCS.
All employees are also encouraged to contribute actively towards achieving a work environment that is free of accidents and ill health.
To reinforce these goals, CDC has an accredited system to meet the requirements of BS EN ISO 9001: 2008.
