Wates have been appointed to the new CCS £30Bn framework

The construction and property group Wates has been named as one of the various companies to be appointed to Lots on the Crown Commercial Service’s (CCS) Construction Works and Associated Services Framework, which is suspected to be the largest ever construction framework in Britain at a value of £30Bn.
Wates have now been appointed to a total of three of the 11 main Lots on the new CCS framework, which aims to build and maintain schools, hospitals, universities, prisons, housing, and offices over the course of the framework’s seven years of operation.
Wates’ appointment to these Lots means that public bodies will now be able to enlist their services, as a renowned and recognised contractor, for public sector schemes focussing upon repair, maintenance, refurbishment, and new builds.
The Managing Director of Government Affairs at the Wates Group, Director Steve Beechey stated: “Wates has long been a trusted partner of Government, and over the years we have been proud to work with numerous central government departments, agencies and local authorities, delivering work of national strategic importance.
“We pride ourselves on our industry-leading safety record, our focus on our people and on the long-lasting relationships we have with our clients, based on true collaboration and a shared set of values.
“This framework, with its emphasis on collaboration and integrated teams looking for a better way to deliver value, is a really important addition to our existing public sector frameworks with Crown Commercial Services for the Government Hubs programme and two FM Workplace services frameworks.”
Wates has had many contracts and has undertaken many projects on behalf of government commissioning bodies in the past, including the likes of the Department for Education, Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Defence, the Government Property Service, and the Parliamentary estate.
