TVP secures deal for 13 new apartments in Failsworth Manchester
The Vinden Partnership (Vinden) has secured an £800,000 deal with Baliss Properties Limited for the construction of 13 new apartments in Failsworth, Manchester.
The 7,800 sq ft scheme provides a benchmark for apartment developments within the Failsworth area, which encompasses the town’s historic image by using similar brick tones to the surrounding properties, whilst still containing modern amenities throughout.
The project was also developed with key sustainable specifications in mind. Energy efficiency was a key thread running throughout this development, with every new apartment meeting Level 3 Code Sustainability ratings, as well as having renewable energy products fitted throughout the interiors. These controls reduce the running costs to tenants and owners, as well as providing eco-efficiency.
Paul Collings, Senior Consultant at Vinden, said: “Housing developments were one of the hardest hit under invested sectors in the recession. As we begin to see investment pick up and the regeneration of Manchester becomes a key focus, there is a renewed willingness to invest in affordable housing for the suburbs.
“It’s particularly encouraging to see traditional towns such as Failsworth creating modern apartment designs, and this new development promises to deliver a new housing option for people who want to live outside Manchester.”
Paul Cook, Baliss Properties Limited, said: “The priority on this project was to combine different styles and create quality, affordable housing, conflating the traditional aspects of the town with the modern requirements of builds today.
“By ensuring that we have met the required sustainability measures we can boost the occupiers’ money saving prospects in areas that they might not have thought they could have before.”
The project began in August 2014 with completion due in May 2015. Baliss Properties Limited is developing the housing in association with Regenda.
