The Vinden Partnership (TVP) celebrated its 21st anniversary in style at the Manchester Art Gallery on Moseley Street.

On a lovely evening in Manchester, the party was attended by 250 guests gathered to celebrate the Company’s achievement of 21 years in business.

Peter Vinden, the managing director of The Vinden Partnership, reflected on the Company’s humble beginnings. He said: “We started 21 years ago with no offices, no reserves and only two clients. We lived from hand to mouth and from week to week wondering what the future had in store for a couple of guys with young families who were prepared to take a chance.

“We now work from purpose built offices, employ a team of 50 people and have too many clients to count at any one time.”

The Vinden Partnership is a leading multi-disciplinary consultant to the built environment and has been operating in the property and construction market place for 21 years. The Company work with an extensive range of clients throughout the public and private sectors providing a huge variety of services, delivered by experienced employees.

There are three offices around the country, including a North West-based headquarters, from where the Company’s extensive project experience is directed across many sectors including education, residential, industrial, affordable housing, office, retail, health, as well as health and safety.

On what makes The Vinden Partnership different form other companies, Peter said: “We advise our clients based on their needs, not ours, and sometimes we can be very direct on what we think is best for our clients.

“We work on the premise that a haircut every year will create lifetime clients whereas a one off scalp and a lost client as a result is no good for anybody. We always look for the solutions to problems.”

Throughout its history, The Vinden Partnership has prided itself on encouraging people to develop and grow along with the Company. Senior Consultant, Paul Collings said: “From day one, the directors made me feel very welcome and the encouragement was superb.  The impression was always that the Company intended to grow.

“The Vinden Partnership have always maintained an emphasis in encouraging people to develop their careers.”

Trainee Quantity Surveyor, Daniel Aspinal has worked for the Vinden Partnership for just over year and echoed this sentiment. He commented: “The Vinden Partnership has encouraged my development from the beginning and helped to guide me through the process of the construction industry and what to expect.

“The management always encourage growth of trainees, from funding University courses to allowing time away from work to study, learn and develop.”

The sense of trust instilled in employees, combined with a strong team spirit, is obvious upon speaking to members of TVP team. Paul Collings said: “Throughout my time at The Vinden Partnership, I have never had the impression that someone is ‘on my back’.  I have always been trusted to carry out my commissions without question and I’m always allowed to manage my own time and diary.

“When there is a problem, and there often is in this industry, there is always someone willing to offer support and advice.”

The strong relationship between employees fostered at TVP has played a key role in the Company’s success over the years.

Carolyn Reid, Consultant Quantity Surveyor at TVP said: “The Company has a family business ethos that always makes you valued and involved.

“One of its biggest strengths is its ability to keep the close and personal relationships with all staff even as the Company grows and expands.”

As for the future, Peter teased the launch of a new innovative and exciting insurance product ‘ALADINS’ that will prove to be a ‘game changer’ for many of the TVP’s clients.

Innovation and longevity in such a competitive and tough industry is testament to the hard work and attention to detail the Company brings and is now seeing them celebrate its 21st anniversary and even after all those years, is still going from strength to strength.
