Ground Control’s latest Landscape Construction project officially opened in celebratory event.
On Saturday 7th May, Ground Control’s latest construction project was opened to the public, inviting residents, councillors and local community members to enjoy the much anticipated park for the first time.
The new high quality urban park is Ground Control’s latest project consisting of a range of hard and soft landscaping as part of the South Kilburn regeneration programme that will see approximately 2,400 new high quality homes built, along with a new local primary school, shops, new health facilities, a site wide energy solution, an improved public realm and environmental standards.
For the grand opening, the community was invited to experience the park, with ribbon cutting, speeches, activities for the children and more.
Ground Control worked alongside Erect Architecture to deliver the scheme, which features innovative, natural robust and sustainable play provisions, site furniture, a diverse landscaped design, as well as new trees and species which have significantly improved the attractiveness and landscaped value of the local area. Works also included the creation of footpaths linking Albert Road to Denmark Road, with the aim of offering an accessible welcoming environment for the existing and future community.
Elements installed by Ground Control included a bespoke giant oak play structure with slide, bespoke balancing beam, a nest swing, trampoline, bespoke concrete seating, concrete paths with exposed aggregate finish and areas of imprinted concrete, a stage area, table tennis table, earth contouring and mounding, herbaceous and shrub planting, irrigation system and semi mature trees.
